More about our Lessons.

Gold Swim School is a swim float swim school—we teach your child to float before we teach them to swim because if a child can float, they can breathe and yell for help. Safety comes first and breathing is the first step to make a child safe. Swimming is the finished product of being safe while in water.

Swimming is like any other skill—it requires practice. We know that every student we have is different and requires a different style of teaching. Please know that we are focused on making swimming instinctual. We are here for the long haul and hope that you are too. Scroll below for more information in the types of lessons we offer.

We offer lessons all year-around: either in our Year-Around Program (August to May) or via our Summer Programming (After Memorial Day through June and July). If you are interested in how lessons work during those too periods of time (pricing, amount of classes, etc)—click the directly buttons below.

Each of our swim lesson classes is 30 minutes long and focuses on safety while teaching correct stroke development and endurance. In Group Classes, there are no more than 4 children per class; this is so each of our student can get more focused time to learn.

Our classes are offered Monday through Saturday.

We do not promise certain instructors as all of our instructors are wonderful and qualified; but if your child is attached, you can make a request and we will try to honor it. They are certified with the Swim America Program.

Group Lessons

Each of our group classes have no more than 4 children—that promotes community whilst learning life-saving water safety skills and USA swimming-certified swimming technique. Our Group Lessons are typically for children between the age of 3 and 10. If the swimmer needing lessons if younger or older, don’t worry—we got you covered with Parent-tot classes, Teen, and Adult Group classes.

All of our group classes are labeled with a “Pre” or “Pro” prefix. It does not indicate their skill level; but instead, it indicates their age. The prefix of “Pre” is for children between the age of 3 to 5 years old, while the prefix of “Pro” indicates a child between the age of 6 to 10.

Parent-Tot

Each class is 30 minutes long. This style of class is for children ages 3 months to 3 years and their parent/guardian. These classes are offered to learn safety skills and respect for the water. Plus, it gives a good solid foundation for future “learn to swim” classes. These classes are taught by experienced instructors and are designed to be fun as well as instructional. We want to make sure that your young ones first introduction to the water is an engaging and safe one.

Private Lessons

These are one-on-one 30 minute lessons with our fabulous instructors. If you don’t see an available class to sign up for in our lesson portal, not to worry! We have more flexibility with privates as long as we can find a time that you and one of our instructors can be available—we can schedule whatever works!

Adult/Teen Lessons

We offer group lessons for all ages. It doesn’t matter how old you are as long as you are committed to learning how to swim! We offer group lessons of similarly aged individuals that way you can feel comfortable and build a sense of camaraderie in this big step on your swimming journey.

Make-up/ Absence policy: we do not offer make-ups for the sake of productivity of our students. If you have to be absent, please let us know. Typically, we only prorate the next month if there is an extenuating circumstance that prevents the swimmer from being in the water, especially if you have a doctor’s note.

You can stop lessons in the middle of the year—we just require a 30 day drop notice. You must let us know 30 days prior to the date you wish to drop so that we can make a note in your account.
