Welcome,

We are so glad you’re here.

Started with a need.

It was 1996. The Olympics were being held in Atlanta, GA. Coach Pat and Beth (co-owners for Chattahoochee Gold Swimming) were volunteering. This is when they heard about the concerns over the of Olympic-sized pools—with the nearest one being Georgia Tech’s that was 30 miles away.

The Olympic Committee were starting to realize that visiting teams were looking for Olympic-sized pools to train in. The Murphys took this moment to ask the city of Woodstock to come together. And they sure did! That photo is what the original pool looked like.

Many from the city of Woodstock wanted to contribute, even in the most humble way, to the Olympic spirit. A local bank arranged the loan, the city of Woodstock leased us an acre of land, and the original pool was built within 60 days. The paint was still wet when the Belarusian Olympic team arrived. For the next two weeks, they trained and stayed with our team’s families.

From our humble beginnings back in 1996, we continued to expand and build on. We are a private facility that focuses on supporting the same community that came together for them. Our swim team swims out of 3 locations, including our Woodstock Aquatic Center. As we grow, we look to the future of swimming and are so excited for the future of our swimmers.
